Courtney + Phillipe: College of the Holy Cross || Shot by Carly Michelle Photography
Courtney and Phillipe's day started with a call for rain. But, as you can see, it honestly didn't matter. The elegant beauty of the entire day was perfectly complimented by the overcast skies... take note.... Rain may be good luck, but also it makes for SPECTACULAR photos. Carly Michelle Photography really knocked it out of the park, as expected.
Every single delicate detail was expertly handled by day of coordinator Jen of Boston Event Divas and we provided the florals and centerpieces for this look. The over all feel and design of the wedding was carefully hand crafted by the Bride herself, set in an iconic ivy covered campus of The College Of The Holy Cross.
No detail was left to chance, from the gold cording detail on the boutonnières to the bouquet design, Courtney new exactly the look she was after.
For Courtney's bouquet we used a mix of white, creams and blush tones, with greenery only around the edges. This was tough for me... as I love a bit of texture.... ok maybe more than a bit.
Very structured bouquets without greens were all the rage in the oughts. (Yup that's right... I've been designing for that long) But I didn't want this to feel dated, and I'm POSITIVE that is not the look this bride was looking for. This needed to be clean and classic, but with a touch of contemporary... and I think we nailed it! We like to call this "round and full with depth and dimension"
Here's a list of some of the goodies we used:
White O'Hara Garden Roses
Tibet Roses
Quicksand Roses
Snowflake Spray Roses
Ranunculus
Netty Dahlias
Eucalyptus
I love incorporating two different centerpieces for guest tables at a reception. Even if they are two lows! It creates interest and movement, and I think it gives guests a reason to get up and look around. It can also help to balance your budget. **Think about choosing one more budget friendly option to mix in if you're trying to make a specific $$$ work. ** Or it could free up some money to make that extra floral installation a reality!
For their reception, we did mix more texture into the centerpieces and it was truly exceptional. For one of the two designs, we designed a collection of pillar candles with some loose greens and a few roses on the table. For the second design, we created a low and full arrangement in a gold compote with lots of texture and greenery.
Some of the Ingredients used:

All in all, it was a magical and inspiring day, surely one I won't forget for a long long time! Thank you to Courtney and Phillipe for letting us be a special part of your day!
