Venue Spotlight: Briar Barn Inn, Rowley MA
There are so many great venues North of Boston and in 2019, the team behind The Willowdale Estate in Topsfield created and opened a new venue, Briar Barn Inn, in Rowely, MA. While technically an Inn, (complete with 30 guest rooms, a restaurant, and spa) the Inn can accommodate weddings of 60-100 inside it's restaurant, Grove. The restaurant seamlessly transforms into a reception space that blends casual elegance with rustic charm.
With 30 guest rooms on site, it creates the perfect space for friends and family to gather and celebrate, while also giving guests a quiet uncomplicated way to end the evening without having to worry about shuttles or driving. Staying on location at Briar Barn Inn also has perks for the couple to be married. I always encourage couples that have the ability to get ready on site to do so, as it cut down some of the stress for the day by eliminating travel time and allowing the couple to truly relax and enjoy the entire day.
The space for the reception at Grove boasts a few perks that are usually not standard issue. The guest tables and chairs provided are beautiful rustic wooden farm tables with matching cross-back chairs. For couples that want to share their first meal together, they offer a beautiful matching sweetheart table that coordinates with all of the guest tables. The bar design and decor adds to the elegant rustic charm as well as the large iron chandeliers. The venue also offers a variety of different ceremony structures and ceremonies can take place on site, inside, as will as outside.
For this beautiful March wedding we featured lots of cream colored spring blooms, including ranunculus, sweet pea, tulips, peonies and garden roses, as well as lots of eucalyptus and jasmine greenery.
We chose to add a pop of pink to the guest tables to really brighten them up and give them a focal point.
The couple chose to re-purpose the ceremony backdrop to behind the sweetheart table and the flowers in front of the table were also from the ceremony.
We really enjoyed working in this new space and think it brings a fresh space for couples looking to keep their guest lists to 100 and under without sacrificing on style or charm.
